Treadmill - high electricity bill

Hello Im new to this forum. I bought a weslo cadence R 5.2 treadmill a few months ago and have been using it every day for 30 minutes. I recently got my electricity bill and it was doubled!! It seems my treadmill is costing me around $8 for 30mins?
I am trying to figure out if it is my treadmill that is using so much electricity or another issue? My treadmill is the only new appliance/machine I am using.

my question is do treadmills use alot of electricity and has anyone else had this experience?

Hey, the Treadmill actually consumes 745.7watts, 1491watts, & 2237watts for 1HP, 2HP, & 3HP respectively. If you run for more than an hour, it may cost around approx. of 69, 139, & 208 for 1HP, 2HP, & 3HP respectively.
Better is to run outside with such bills.
It's a very big electricity bill for just using the treadmill. Maybe a good solution would be to sell this one and buy another smaller one? While treadmills are available in various sizes, most fall within the standard 22" x 60" dimensions. This one works fine for many people, and you can find it even smaller on https://endurancetreadmills.com.au/. I got a 22 x 60 one from there, and I am delighted with it; it doesn't consume a lot of electricity like others, and you will save a lot of money on bills.
